In July of 2012, the Fantasia International Film Festival will celebrate its 16th edition. Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Fantasia is a cultural and professional destination point, and since its first edition in 1996, the festival’s ever-growing popularity has attracted the attention of the international film industry alongside a legion of attendees from across the world. Every facet of the filmmaking chain is represented with in-person delegates at the festival: directors, actors, producers, studio representatives and distributors, who get to experience their films with its legendarily enthusiastic, taste-making audience.

Fantasia is at the vanguard of international genre cinema, thanks to its distinct programming, its prominent media coverage and the record-breaking attendance by passionate film fans. Over 100,000 festival-goers attended Fantasia in 2011, and the festival has attracted over a million spectators over its duration.

  • An innovative concept and programming
  • A strategic niche that differentiates it from other film festivals
  • A distinctive marketing approach
  • A varied national media plan
  • Solid support and interest from the media and the international film industry.
Our partnership with Fantasia allowed us to reach both film lovers as DVD buyers and deploy during the festival an effective promotion with results reaching beyond expectations

The most important and prestigious genre film festival on this continent.

QUENTIN TARANTINO, Director of PULP FICTION and INGLORIOUS BASTERDS

Faced with the profusion of what the Fantasia Festival has to offer, it only remains to let oneself be guided randomly from screening to screening, into a visibly thriving cinematic world.

Le Monde, August 2011

At the moment, [Fantasia is] Montreal's most dynamic festival, striking a real chord with the specialized people from around the world.

La Presse, 2011

Fantasia certainly has no reason to envy any other Montreal festival.

Voir, 2011

(...) the festival has grown into one of the world’s largest genre film fests (...). Fantasia has without a doubt become one of Montreal’s premiere events.

Kyle Reese, Sound On Sight, 2011

A world-class event where one can see the most talked-about titles from the international film festival circuit, as well as discover obscure curiosities from the next generation of cinema greats. It's hard to imagine a Montreal summer without Fantasia

Kevin Laforest, Hour, 2011

Fantasia has continued its expansion into bigger films, more ambitious presentations and a wider scope, all while maintaining the edge that’s made it the liveliest major film festival in town.

The Gazette, 2011

I think it’s the most unbelievable film festival that I’ve ever been to. What a great opportunity for filmmakers to show their work. I’m thrill about this festival. I truly am.

Ted Kotcheff, Director of WAKE IN FREIGHT and FIRST BLOOD

For me Fantasia is the best genre film festival in the world, and it holds some of my dearest memories. Every screening at Fantasia is a special event, the crowds are rabid for films and each screening is like a rock concert.
