“Brightly colored, upbeat... has the off-hand, anything-is-possible spirit of a children’s book” - David Chute, VARIETY
Hrithik Roshan once again jumps into his superhero costume to deliver the long-awaited KRRISH 3. Rakesh Roshan hasn’t changed a thing in the delicious recipe that has turned Krrish into a planetary hero.
Krishna Mehra lives with his wife Priya (Priyanka Chopra) and brilliant scientist father Rohit Mehra. He’s trying as best he can to find a balance between his family and superhero lives. Unfortunately, things are never that simple. His numerous no-shows at work are quickly going to cost him his job. To make things worse, a relentless virus is rapidly spreading all over Mumbai. With the help of his father, he quickly finds an antidote and saves the city, which sparks the fury of Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) and his army of half-human/half-animal mutant minions called Maanvar. Determined to terrorize the entire world, our antagonist strikes against the scientist who foiled his plans. Krrish will go head-to-head with a villain of superhuman strength and intelligence, a duel for which his family will pay the cost.
KRRISH 3is the immediate continuation of KRRISH, screened at Fantasia 2006. Like the RAMBO pictures, the series’ first installment has a different title (KOI... MIL GAYA), which makes this one the third film in the series, but the second KRRISH movie. Rakesh Roshan has created a more ambitious feature, with more action and special effects, and a somewhat denser plot. Not only can he obviously rely on acting duo Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra to create genuine magic, but the addition of Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut brings a breath of fresh air that propels the tale onto higher level. We can easily discern the influence of American superheroes, most notably X-MEN and SUPERMAN. While Rakesh is clearly influenced by the latter, his take on the genre goes even further. He offers us a more positive image of the superhero role, a more fantastic point of view in a world where anything seems possible. KRRISH 3 will win you over with its frenzied rhythm, slick humour and unique originality. The numerous fight scenes, as well as the bigger-scaled action sequences, will leave more than one viewer dumbstruck. The festive music and sporadic dance numbers with spark a live fire under an evening you won’t soon forget!
