Goblin Madness with BEST WORST MOVIE + TROLL 2 - stars in person!

The summation: A whiny young boy subject to daily visits from his dead grandfather is warned that his family is in danger from vegetarian goblins who turn people into plant matter in order to eat them. When the family goes on a home-exchange to the sleepy town of Nilbog (you got that, right?)Joshua is the only one who realizes that all the creepy townsfolk are just goblins in human form, waiting for the right moment to pounce on his unsuspecting family, who are in the meantime plied with green food and more milk than any human would ever need to drink. Joshua and dead Grandpa Seth are the only ones who can stop the goblins, and the ongoing battle of good versus evil is accompanied by popcorn sex, inappropriate urination, coffee-hating, unintentional homoeroticism, and some serious overacting. Oh, and coincidentally most of the people in the film are Mormons.

Where to begin with TROLL 2? I would like to say that seeing TROLL 2 is a personal experience that differs for every viewer, but it's become obvious with repeated viewings that the real experience of TROLL 2 is a shared one. After all, the film itself hardly elicits any kind of reflection or contemplation: it's been unanimously voted the worst film of all time and currently ranks an unheard of "0%" on Rotten Tomatoes. But seeing TROLL 2 with an audience of like-minded trash-fans is an exhilarating experience that can't be topped. TROLL 2 fandom spreads like a virus, and I know what I'm talking about - I travelled to Nilbog last year (in actual fact Morgan, Utah) for entire weekend of TROLL 2-inspired idiocy called the NILBOG INVASION (see Zack Carlson's event diary and pictures HERE).

This growing fanbase, and its effect on the lives of those who were involved with TROLL 2 is what forms the heart of BEST WORST MOVIE, Michael Paul Stephenson's (little Joshua, all grown up) debut documentary about the wild ride he's been on for the last few years as a result of this little cult movie that could. Hilarious (and at times heartbreaking), Stephenson manages to capture what it is that creates a cult phenomena, while weaving a fascinating human story about the ordinary people whose lives are shaken up when TROLL 2 comes rearing up from the past to haunt them.
