FANTASIA 2009 RECEIVES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM
Montréal, July 7, 2009
Telefilm Canada, through its Skills and Screens Program, is providing financial support for the 13th annual Fantasia International Film Festival. This was confirmed on June 29 by Telefilm’s Sheila de La Varende, Director, National and International Business Development.
Telefilm Canada is contributing $35,000 to the Festival. “Over the past thirteen years, Fantasia has carved out a unique niche for itself in Montréal’s festival landscape by offering a rich and wide ranging program of fantasy films that is reaching growing audiences. As North America’s premier genre film event, Fantasia is an ideal launching pad for promoting and premiering genre films made in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Telefilm Canada is proud to be supporting Fantasia for the second year running,” said Sheila de La Varende.
The Fantasia International Film Festival is taking place July 9-27 in Montréal at Concordia University’s Hall Theatre and J.A. de Sève Cinema. The full schedule is available at www.fantasiafestival.com. Extra screenings on July 28 and 29 have already been confirmed.
