One of the high points for this edition of Fantasia without a doubt would have been the screening of the Thai thriller 4BIA. This collective feature regroups some of the greatest moviemakers in Thailand right now. Despite their different styles, Youngyooth Thongkonthun (Iron Ladies), Banjong Pisanthanakun (Shutter), Parkpoom Wongpoom (Alone) and Paween Purikitpanya (Body #19) had one common goal: to scare us.

Many people there last night were either sitting on the edge of their seats or burying their faces somewhere. You could feel the tension in the room. The smallest noise would cause screaming. It was great. Following a rain of applause and hollering, the four directors answered the many questions that the crowd, still under the shock, had prepared at them. They went on about on-set anecdotes, the history of the project and Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom even shared their opinion on the American version of their movie, Shutter. Once the Q & A was ocer, they posed with fans and signed autographs.

For those who missed out on this unique experience, you can redeem yourselves tonight with Alone, premiering in Montreal at 7h20 PM, the latest work by the Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom duo.
