A scan of director David Blyths career leaves one stunned. At the tender age of 22, he created his first feature film, ANGEL MINE, a controversial gaze at suburban New Zealand couples slide into hell. His name went worldwide with 1985s DEATH WARMED UP, a surprising horror/sci-fi hybrid thats a cult classic to this day. That was followed by RED-BLOODED AMERICAN GIRL, the comdey MOONRISE with Al Lewis, and a fistful of POWERS RANGERS episodes. TRANSFIGURED NIGHTS and BOUND FOR PLEASURE find Blyth in documentary mode, exploring a theme echoed throughout his filmography: fetishism and its demimonde.
