Itís 1920, and the serial killing of beautiful women has terrified Japan. Hongo finds himself backstage, chasing a mysterious shadow, when he meet a beautiful German-Japanese woman named Zabine. When the shadow reveal itself to be a monstrous humanoid spider, Zabine transforms into the superhuman Silver Mask!
Silver Mask is a loose remake of the popular television series which appeared on Japanís TBS network from 1971-72. Directed by non other than Akio Jissoji, it revisits the 1920s from a original angle, paying homage to the classic silent film of the German Expressionist era, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It is the final work of the great last work of Mr. Jissoji, and exhibits every drop of the highly imaginative style that has made him famous.
