Description
Jun Awazu’s Negadon is the best sort of nostalgia, a loving reconstruction of the classic Toho kaiju aesthetic. The kicker is that this film, almost entirely the work of one man, recreates that classic monster feel entirely with computer animation. In the year 2025 extreme overpopulation has sent humanity into space. An expedition to terraform Mars discovers an apparently dormant alien, a monstrous specimen, which they load onto their ship and return to earth. When the spaceship crashes on re-entry the monster is awakened and begins to wreak destruction on the human race leaving humanity’s only hope a middle aged robotics engineer and his giant creation. Can the robot fight off the Martian monster? Will humanity survive? Striking a chord with giant monster and sci-fi fans around the world Awazu’s Negadon has struck a major chord with fans everywhere it has been seen, becoming a bona fide global sensation. —Todd Brown

"Looks great and even has a respectable dose of the character development and back story that anime sometimes spurns" – Neil Genzlinger, NEW YORK TIMES Websitehttp://www.negadonattacks.com/ CreditsDirector: Jun Awazu |
